inspired to post for 100 anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire

Brossa (brossa = trash) project in which i wore clothing found in the street everyday (exclusion of underwear) during 3 months.  After wearing, I packaged the ensamble and returned it to the street.

I made this years ago with the intension to leave it in the street after weaving, but fell in love with it and have used it in many ways since.  Now time has looped back around and i finally got rid of this object.  Its first new home will be amongst the theater of Claudio and company.

Anubis Mask

After a dream last winter,  I found the porcelain black mask I made of my face distorted when I was 16.   It was in one of the childhood closet´s in my parent´s home.  My nephew Bryce and I broke the mask into pieces next to one of brother Jim´s  campfires.  I placed the mask in an urn and took it to the Mediterranean Sea.   On my birthday we celebrated on a friend´s sailboat named ANUBIS, from which I dropped the mask shards into the water.  In summer I swim in the sea looking for old tiles that have been worn down into thin flat stones, weathered and softened with time.

In the MAGBA

In 2008 I left an apple from Fanjul on this plate which then glued itself there.
So, I glued down the salt and pepper shaker that were also two years sitting on the plate collecting a valuable layer of dust. I took it down to the MAGBA the other day and left it quietly in the foyer behind the sculpture ¨for Konrad Fisher¨ as a gift for Jurana who was interning there.
The sculpture disappeared. I am looking for anybody who has information concerning this apple.

I worked on it while sitting talking with him this summer… and when I finished he said… “now that your finished, I hope you were making that for me… I always hated those sheets.” laughter

Boo Peep Gallery 2008

first we ate a sidewalk dinner
with another bed of wool found in the street months ago… until  Sebas came by asking if i could make the sacrificial sheep for a theatre play of Buñuel piece.
for this i decided to make an early Boo Peep Gallery 2008.
The Boo Peep Gallery is a project about abandoned spaces. This is the most beautiful one in my hood.
however, due to the last minute decision to just get the wool out of the studio… there was no special inauguration, just a quiet short night with the mother and her twins, in which one unfortunately was born with three heads and probably won´t live very long.

Stuffed Chair Monster

Ricard brought home a hiddeous ugly orange chair cover thinking i would like it.  I had a ton of stuffing after making mutation sensation costumes and so told Erica I would show her Barcelona fromthe mountain top, but we had to try to take make some monster to take along with us.

However, poor little Rhinosilla never made it to the church of entertainment of Tibidabo… the tram man said “NO”!

Later a student of mine said she found it in her friend´s livingroom.

not much came of this festival on a personal level, but good people and creative idea. Hint: don´t eat half-open clams o drink XXX belgium beer.
